Several NFL players are vying for a strong bounce-back campaign this upcoming season after coming out of retirement, returning from injuries or producing a down season. In fact, a few of the league’s biggest names headline William Hill’s 2020-21 Comeback Player of the Year odds, which is now available to bet in New Jersey and Nevada.
After a one-year retirement, expectations are high for Rob Gronkowski regarding his reunion with Tom Brady in Tampa Bay. The new Buccaneers tight end is the 3/1 favorite to win 2020-21 Comeback Player of the Year. Gronkowski already received the honor once before, back in the 2014-15 season.
Ben Roethlisberger and Matthew Stafford are near the top of the board at 7/2 and 7/1 odds respectively. The veteran signal-callers missed a combined 22 games due to injury last season. The last two Comeback Player of the Year recipients were quarterbacks—Ryan Tannehill and Andrew Luck.
J.J. Watt is only behind Gronkowski and Roethlisberger at 6/1, while Myles Garrett at 25/1 is the next-lowest odds of any defensive player. Eric Berry in 2015-16 was the only defensive player to be named Comeback Player of the Year over the last decade.
There are also a couple current free agents who have odds listed. Cam Newton has the sixth-lowest odds at 10/1, along with Antonio Brown at 25/1, Andy Dalton at 40/1 and Joe Flacco at 40/1 further down.
