More than 400 ways to bet – many on Colin Kaepernick – on next Sunday’s wagering menu
LAS VEGAS (January 25, 2013) – The first pro football championship game in the United States for William Hill Race & Sports Book means a wagering menu for next Sunday’s game that is as extensive as one can hope to find anywhere in Nevada.
The San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens will meet at 3:30 p.m. PT on Feb. 3, and William Hill is making it possible for customers to have action on virtually every moment of the big game. Opened for wagering on Friday morning are more than 400 ways to bet next Sunday’s game – including odds on team and individual outcomes within the game. The menu won’t stop there, though, as several more propositional wagers – or “props” – will be offered throughout the upcoming week.
The most popular of those will involve San Francisco 49ers – and former Nevada Wolf Pack – quarterback Colin Kaepernick. The 10 props offered on Kaepernick for last weekend’s NFC Championship Game were wildly popular with customers, and William Hill is upping the ante with even more Kaepernick wagering options when he hits the game’s biggest stage, including:
- Will Kaepernick have 100 yards rushing and 300 yards passing?
- Who will have more: Kaepernick pass attempts or LeBron James points scored vs. Toronto?
- Who will have more: Kaepernick TD passes or Lionel Messi goals scored vs. Valencia?
- What will Kaepernick throw first: touchdown or interception?
“Props are a product of interest, and there has been an absolute landslide of interest on Kaepernick coming to the forefront,” said William Hill Director of Public Relations and legendary Vegas oddsmaker Jimmy Vaccaro. “We’ll be offering more than 20 props on Kaepernick alone, and I’ll tell you this: Whatever number we wind up with on Kaepernick, it won’t be enough. It’s an outstanding story, and we’ve already seen that people want to put their wagering dollars on him.”
The William Hill trading team so far has produced 205 wagers on next Sunday’s game, and we even asked our employees and the public – via Facebook and Twitter – what they would like to see, including some of their suggestions, as well.
Other intriguing prop wagering options in the game include:
- Total solo + assisted tackles by Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis
- Yes or no: Will Baltimore safety Ed Reed record an interception?
- Yes or no: Will San Francisco backup quarterback Alex Smith take a snap from center?
InPlay wagering will also be offered on the game, available at all 75 full-service William Hill locations throughout Nevada, at all William Hill kiosks – including those at PTs Taverns – and via the William Hill Mobile Sports betting app. A full list of locations and mobile info is available at williamhill.us.
