UFC 265: Odds, Trends for 12 Fights Including Lewis vs. Gane

Bet UFC with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.

William Hill Nevada currently has odds posted for 12 fights for tomorrow night’s UFC 265 from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The marquee clash involves two of UFC’s top heavyweight fighters duking it out in an interim title bout—No. 2-ranked contender Derrick Lewis vs. No. 3-ranked contender Ciryl Gane.

Gane (9-0) comes into his clash against Lewis (25-7) undefeated, and is heavily favored to start off with 10 straight victories in his UFC career. He opened as -340 chalk when William Hill Nevada first posted odds for this showdown on July 24. Since then, his price has risen to -360 while Lewis sits at +300. The total is set at 4.5, with the under at -190 and the over at +160.

“It’ll be a well-bet fight. It’ll be your typical action for a main event with a heavy favorite,” said Nick Bogdanovich, Director of Trading. “The parlays will be high on Gane and the straight bets will be high on Lewis. So who we’ll need will depend on how the rest of the card turns out.”

Lewis is the most popular fighter on the entire card in terms of total number of tickets, racking up 95% of them among all moneyline bets against Gane. Lewis is the only UFC 265 fighter to be bringing in at least 80% of the total number of tickets.

Gane, though, has the slight edge in total dollars wagered at 52%. That is highlighted by one Nevada bettor who staked $23,100 on Gane -330 for a total potential payout of $30,100.

The biggest UFC 265 wager taken thus far at William Hill, however, is on a preliminary fight. A New Jersey bettor laid $26,000 on Johnny Munoz Jr. -260 against Jamey Simmons for a total potential payout of $36,000. Munoz Jr. is up to -290 over Simmons (+245), and has captured 99% of the total dollars wagered.

Three other fighters have attracted at least 90% of the total dollars wagered as of now at William Hill: Karolina Kowalkiewicz (-130 vs. Jessica Penne) at 98%, Tecia Torres (-140 vs. Angela Hill) at 97% and Miles Johns (-210 against Anderson Dos Santos) at 93%.
