Bet UFC with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.
Another monster card looms this weekend, as UFC 261 takes place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida with a live crowd on hand.
William Hill has odds posted for all 13 fights on Saturday, including three title bouts.
In the main event, Kamaru Usman (18-1) will defend his title belt in a rematch against No. 4-ranked contender Jorge Masvidal (35-14). The two squared off in UFC 251 on Jul. 11, 2020, with Usman awarded the victory by unanimous decision.
Usman opened as -360 chalk with Masvidal listed at +300. Now the welterweight champion has swung to -420 and Masvidal is at +340. The total currently sits at 4.5, with the over at -190 and the under at +170.
“All the straight bets are on the dog taking the big price and all the parlays are on the favorite,” said Nick Bogdanovich, Director of Trading for William Hill US. “Depending on what happens in the undercard, we’re probably going to be rooting for Usman—unless every favorite earlier rolls then we’ll need the dog. I don’t think UFC makes rematches unless they think the loser has a legitimate shot, so people must think that Masvidal is live here.”
As of now, Masvidal is generating 88% of the total number of tickets and 80% of the total dollars wagered among all moneyline bets in his upcoming showdown against Usman.
The other two title bouts on the card are women’s strawweight champion Zhang Weili (21-1) against No. 1-ranked contender Rose Namajunas (10-4) and women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko (20-3) against No. 1-ranked contender Jessica Andrade (21-8).
“For Zhang, they laid -180 and -190, so we’re up to -200,” Bogdanovich said. “We’re high on straight bets and parlays with her. I’m assuming we’ll need Rose Namajunas when it’s all said and done. Then everyone thinks that Shevchenko is unbeatable. We opened at -400 and now it’s -430, we’re high on both straight bets and parlays with the favorite here too. We could use a split there for sure, if one of the two underdogs could show up, that would be good for us.”
One Nevada bettor laid $16,000 on Shevchenko back when she was at -400 for a total potential payout of $20,000, which is the biggest UFC 261 wager taken thus far at William Hill.
