Total Thursdays: Pro Football Week 5 Odds, Trends for Totals

Overs in Week 4’s NFL action went 7-6-2, moving them to a 36-25-2 (59%) overall record this season.

Of the 12 NFL Week 5 games that are available to bet currently at William Hill, six have totals in the 50s. That includes five of them sitting at 54 or higher, whereas there were six such totals combined in the first four weeks of the season.

The highest total this week belongs to Vikings vs. Seahawks on Sunday night, where it now resides at 57. That number reached as high as 58 for that game throughout the week. The highest closing number of any total this season at William Hill was 57 between the Cowboys and Seahawks in Week 3.

The majority of William Hill bettors are backing the over in terms of tickets in 11 of the 12 games, with Panthers vs. Falcons (54) over leading the way with 81% of the total number of tickets. The one exception is Jaguars vs. Texans (54), whose under is generating 54% of the total number of tickets.

Meanwhile, the over for Raiders vs. Chiefs (55.5) ranks first in total dollars wagered at 88%. That is highlighted by a Nevada bettor placed $50,000 on Raiders vs. Chiefs over 56.5 (-110) for a total potential payout of $95,454.55. Interestingly, that total has had the biggest shift this week, dropping 3.5 points from its opener of 59.

Three games are getting the majority of the total dollars wagered on their respective unders: Colts vs. Browns (46) at 76%, Eagles vs. Steelers (44.5) at 71% and Chargers vs. Saints (51) at 55%.
