Since William Hill released its Week 3 NFL spreads, there have been a few line moves across key numbers and several totals have been on the rise.
Only one Week 3 game’s spread, though, has moved by more than a point. The Texans opened as 6-point road underdogs to the Steelers, however that has dropped two points to +4.
“They’re 0-2, but Houston started off with the two toughest teams in the league in K.C. and Baltimore,” said Nick Bogdanovich, Director of Trading for William Hill US. “They’re not dropping off too much in class this weekend, Pittsburgh’s pretty good. But the Steelers have a bunch of injuries to their offensive line.”
Three spreads have moved a point from their opening number: Titans (-1.5 to -2.5) at Vikings, Jets at Colts (-9.5 to -10.5) and Packers at Saints (-4 to -3). The Saints lost outright as 4-point road favorites in Las Vegas this past Monday, and are playing their second straight prime-time matchup with the Packers coming to town on Sunday night.
“Green Bay has looked great so far,” Bogdanovich said. “But when New Orleans lost on Monday night, they got adjusted off their loss. So I think it’s more of an adjustment with New Orleans than Green Bay’s performance. The public I think will be on the Packers, the rare instance where the public will be on the dog. But I think the sharps will be on the favorite.”
The other marquee prime-time showdown is on Monday night between the Chiefs and Ravens. Baltimore originally was priced as a 3-point favorite, though that line now resides at Ravens -3.5.
“Chiefs-Ravens will either end up 3 with juice or 3.5,” Bogdanovich said. “We took a few early bets on the Ravens, but we’re pretty even on the game right now.”
Chiefs vs. Ravens has also seen some movement on its total, as it has risen two points from 52 to 54. Only Thursday night’s Dolphins vs. Jaguars total has had a bigger shift, moving from 45 to 47.5. Other notable total shifts include Raiders at Patriots (46.5 to 48) and Lions vs. Cardinals (53 to 54.5).
