There’s still plenty of uncertainty swirling ahead of the 2021 NFL draft. Who will the 49ers take third overall? Who will be the first non-quarterback drafted? Will there be any more surprising trades?
With the draft less than three weeks away, William Hill Nevada released a new batch of NFL draft prop bets this past weekend, including 12 player draft position props.
Justin Fields has the lowest draft position number of any of the 12 available players, as the Ohio State quarterback is listed at 4.5. Fields over 4.5 opened as a slight -120 favorite against under 4.5 (EVEN), however now the two sides are each priced at -110. In fact, Fields under 4.5 has been the most popular 2021 player draft position prop by total number of tickets thus far at William Hill Nevada.
Two players’ draft positions sit at 5.5: Florida tight end Kyle Pitts and Oregon offensive lineman Penei Sewell. Pitts under 5.5 was originally at -125, and has since swung to -165 with over 5.5 at +145.
Sewell, meanwhile, has had the biggest odds shift of any player draft position prop. Sewell under 5.5 opened as -145 chalk with the over residing at +125. Now under 5.5 is a +115 underdog to over 5.5 at -135. Sewell over 5.5 is also the most popular 2021 player draft position prop by total dollars wagered as of now at William Hill Nevada.
Another two players are next at 6.5, as North Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance and LSU wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase are both positioned there. Lance under 6.5 is currently at -130 after it was first displayed at -110. Chase under 6.5 is sizable chalk at -175, which is the heaviest favorite of any side for a 2021 player draft position prop at William Hill Nevada.
Three Alabama stars and two Big Ten products follow the single-digit player draft position props. At 10.5 are Northwestern offensive lineman Rashawn Slater (over +110/under -130) and Alabama cornerback Patrick Surtain II (over -120/under EVEN). Then, 2020 Heisman recipient Devonta Smith (over +125/under -145) joins fellow Alabama pass-catcher Jaylen Waddle (over EVEN/under -120) and Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons (over -110/under -110) at 11.5.
South Carolina cornerback Jaycee Horn (over EVEN/under -120) is close behind at 13.5. The player with the highest draft position number at William Hill Nevada, though, is Alabama running back Najee Harris. Harris is currently at 29.5, with the under at -120 and the over at even-money odds.
