Bet NFL with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.
Betting on the Super Bowl itself is a great way to make the Big Game more interesting, though what about throwing a second sporting event into the mix? Welcome to the world of cross-sport props, where your knowledge of other sports can pay off when betting on Super Bowl 55 at William Hill in several states.
Cross-sport props add another layer of fun to Super Bowl betting. Want to bet Patrick Mahomes pass attempts vs. LeBron James points+rebounds+assists? Or Sunday NHL goals vs. Antonio Brown receiving yards? Even Boise State and Nevada made three-point shots in their game on Sunday vs. Super Bowl 55 second-quarter points is available at William Hill.
“We just try and get a little from every sport to make our props more well-rounded,” said Nick Bogdanovich, Director of Trading for William Hill US. “We’ve got UFC, hockey, NBA, college basketball, rugby and golf this year. They’re creative and a lot of people find them interesting. We’ll write a bunch of bets to them. A lot of people grab the packet and they look at them for hours and get a kick out of those cross-sport props.”
In terms of total dollars wagered, one cross-sport has separated itself from the rest of the pack. In fact, it has attracted the fifth-most total dollars wagered of any Super Bowl 55 prop bet at William Hill.
‘What will be more: Suns points against the Celtics on Sunday vs. Chiefs rushing yards’ opened at pick’em when Super Bowl 55 prop bets were first released last Thursday. Now Suns points is listed at -20.5 over Chiefs rushing yards. Three $1,200 wagers were taken on this prop at Suns -1.5 (-120) for total potential payouts of $2,200 apiece.
“I don’t know off the top of my head what Kansas City averages per game in rushing yards, but it must be around 110 and I’m sure the Suns are averaging around that many points per game too,” Bogdanovich said. “I guess they think [Clyde] Edwards-Helaire and [Darrel] Williams aren’t going to get it done. The Suns are going to get theirs regardless, so this is them thinking Kansas City won’t get a lot of rushing yards. But it’s impossible to make a perfect number on hundreds of props, and we’re going to have a dud every now and then.”
Three other Super Bowl 55 cross-sport prop sides have seen notable action at William Hill for total dollars wagered thus far as well. More total fumbles lost in Super Bowl 55 is up to -200 from -120 vs. Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah goals against Manchester City (+170). Buccaneers total touchdowns opened at even-money odds against Liverpool and Manchester City total goals, yet now Buccaneers touchdowns is now at -140.
The favorite has also flipped in the Waste Management Phoenix Open winner’s fourth-round score vs. Leonard Fournette rushing and receiving yards. The fourth-round score opened at -.5, however Fournette currently resides at -2.5.
