A couple of the biggest names in golf are ready to get back on the green, as Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Rickie Fowler and Matthew Wolff will compete in a skins game exhibition this Sunday for charity.
McIlroy and Johnson, two of the top-five ranked golfers in the world, will partner up to face Fowler/Wolff in “TaylorMade Driving Relief” at Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Fla. Each two-man team can potentially earn up to $3 million for their respective charities.
For skins, each hole is worth a certain monetary amount, and the team that wins that hole collects that amount. If both teams notch the same score on that hole, that amount rolls over into the next hole.
After being listed as high as -220 at William Hill to win the most money in this skins exhibition, McIlroy/Johnson are currently down to -180 while Fowler/Wolff reside at +160. Despite the lower individual rankings, the underdog has been capturing the attention of William Hill bettors.
Fowler/Wolff have attracted 72% of the total number of tickets as well as 65% of the total dollars wagered.
William Hill has also released two props for this charity match. Team McIlroy/Johnson is the -145 favorite to win the most money through nine holes with Fowler/Wolff listed at +125. Additionally, Fowler/Wolff are underdogs again at +110 to be the first skin winner, while McIlroy/Johnson have a -130 price for that prop.
