College Football Futures: Latest Odds, Trends for SEC Win Totals

Bet college football with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.

After finishing up Win Total Wednesday with the NFL last week, we now shift gears to the collegiate ranks. The 2021 regular season kicks off in just 10 days, so let’s take a peek at how William Hill bettors have been attacking the SEC regular season win totals.

William Hill Nevada released regular season win totals for all 14 SEC teams on July 15, and two teams have had their number move by half a win since.

Let’s start, though, with the highest win total in the conference. Alabama was one of two teams (Clemson) that opened at 11.5, with the under at -120 and the over at even-money odds.

In the past five seasons, Alabama has finished undefeated in the regular season three times. The majority of William Hill bettors think the Crimson Tide will drop a game this time around after their perfect 13-0 campaign last season. Alabama under 11.5 has brought in 77% of the total number of tickets and 80% of the total dollars wagered.

One SEC team’s under has drawn at least 80% of the total number of tickets and total dollars wagered. Tennessee opened at 6.5 (over -110/under -110) and has since swung to 6 (over +120/under -140).

The Volunteers’ under has received 83% of the total number of tickets, making it the most lopsided under bet in the SEC in that category. Additionally, Tennessee’s under has gotten 92% of the total dollars wagered, only trailing Arkansas’ under at 93% among all SEC teams.

Interestingly, even though Arkansas’ under has gotten 93% of the total dollars wagered and 74% of the total number of tickets, the Razorbacks’ win total has increased from 5.5 (over -115, under -105) to 6 (over +115/under -135).

Not only are there two SEC teams’ unders that are attracting 90% of the total dollars wagered, there are also three overs meeting that same threshold. Mississippi State over 6 leads the way with 99% of the total dollars wagered, while Kentucky over 7 is at 98% and Ole Miss over 7.5 is at 93%.

One Nevada bettor put $9,999 on Mississippi State over 6 (-125) for a total potential payout of $17,998.20, which is the largest SEC win total wager taken thus far at William Hill.

For most popular over bets by total number of tickets, Kentucky over 7 is tops at 97% followed by Mississippi State over 6 at 89% and Ole Miss over 7.5 at 81%.

Another SEC team where the majority of William Hill bettors are siding with the over is the other squad in the conference besides Alabama with a double-digit win total. Georgia has stayed put at 10.5, however the over has crept up slightly from -130 to -140 whereas the under is now at +120. Georgia over 10.5 has pulled in 65% of the total number of tickets and 85% of the total dollars wagered.

The SEC win totals that have caused the most division among William Hill bettors are Texas A&M 9.5 (over 67% tickets, under 50% dollars), Florida 9 (over 50% tickets, over 58% dollars) and Vanderbilt 3 (under 56% tickets, over 66% dollars).
