Bet NFL with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.
Several NFL rookies shined in their preseason debuts this past week. Did any performances warrant an increase in a player’s betting action for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year futures at William Hill Nevada?
There weren’t any odds shifts from this past week of contests, however there have been some notable moves throughout the offseason.
The five first-round quarterbacks in the 2021 NFL draft also possess the lowest odds. No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence leads the way at +220, while Justin Fields, Mac Jones and Zach Wilson are all tied for the second-lowest odds at +650. Trey Lance is the only signal-caller in this group whose odds have changed from his original number, as they slightly decreased from +750 to +700.
Lance has also drawn the biggest 2021-22 NFL Rookie of the Year wager at William Hill, as a Nevada bettor put $1,900 on Lance +750 for a total potential payout of $16,150.
Najee Harris opened at 20/1, but has jumped down to 10/1—where he is joined by Kyle Pitts with the sixth-lowest odds. Ja’Marr Chase (12/1) and Jaylen Waddle (15/1) are nearby, followed by Devonta Smith and Michael Carter at 18/1. The Jets running back was first listed at 100/1 before his massive adjustment to 18/1, with another Nevada bettor laying $1,150 on Carter 100/1 for a total potential payout of $116,150.
A couple more tailbacks are next, with Travis Etienne at 20/1 and Javonte Williams at 25/1. Five more rookies are listed at 50/1: Trey Sermon, Rashod Bateman, Kadarius Toney, Amari Rodgers and Elijah Moore.
After William Hill Nevada first released these futures on Apr. 29, it’s Harris who has been the most popular bet. The Steelers bruiser has captured 20% of the total number of tickets and 21% of the total dollars wagered, which ranks first in each category.
For total number of tickets, two more players have nabbed a double-digit percentage—Fields at 12% and Pitts at 11%. For total dollars wagered, three others meet that threshold—Lance at 14%, Lawrence at 12% and Fields at 10%.
Since the first week of the preseason kicked off on Thursday night, though, one of the quarterbacks has attracted noteworthy action. Lance has received 37% of the total dollars wagered over that span, as well as 17% of the total number of tickets. Only Harris (18%) has topped Lance in total number of tickets over the past few days, while Fields is second in total dollars wagered at 19%.
