Bet NBA with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.
After being in great shape to take a 3-2 series lead, the Bucks now find themselves on the brink of elimination heading into Game 6 against the Nets.
The Nets trailed by as many as 17 points and were listed as high as +1000 on the live moneyline at William Hill. Yet Brooklyn emerged with a crucial 114-108 comeback victory in Game 5 against Milwaukee. Now the Nets can secure a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals on the road tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT on TNT.
The Bucks have closed as the favorites at William Hill in four of the first five games this series, and they’ll once again hold that title in Game 6. After opening as 3.5-point chalk at home, Milwaukee is now up to -5.5 against Brooklyn.
“I’m surprised that the sharps bet this line up to 5.5 and that it’s now this high,” said Nick Bogdanovich, Director of Trading for William Hill US. “It could even get to 6. Milwaukee seems to collapse in big games and Harden should be better this game [compared to Game 5]. When this game tips, there’s going to be more public money on the Nets, they’re getting a good amount of points with them.”
The moneylines have experienced big swings as well from their opening numbers. Milwaukee’s moneyline price has gone from -155 to -230, whereas Brooklyn’s is up to +195 from +135. Meanwhile, the total has stayed put after first being released at 220.
The majority of William Hill bettors are not only backing the road underdog to cover the number, they think the series will be finished off tonight as well.
The Nets are generating 68% of the total number of tickets and 58% of the total number of tickets among all spread bets against the Bucks, along with 67% of the total number of tickets and 52% of the total dollars wagered for all moneyline wagers.
The biggest bet taken thus far at William Hill, though, has come in on Milwaukee. A Nevada bettor staked $17,600 on Bucks moneyline -220 for a total potential payout of $25,600.
For the total, the over has received 63% of the total number of tickets but just 51% of the total dollars wagered. The first four games went under the closing total, while Game 5 pushed at 222.
