Forty drivers will be competing for the checkered flag in NASCAR’s biggest race this Sunday. So who are William Hill bettors backing to win the 2021 Daytona 500?
William Hill has odds up for every single driver, with two-time defending Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin atop the board. Hamlin is priced at +850 after opening at +800 as he attempts to secure the race’s first-ever three-peat.
Several others’ odds are close by to Hamlin’s, as 12 drivers are currently priced at 15/1 or lower: Hamlin, Chase Elliott (10/1), Joey Logano (12/1), Ryan Blaney (12/1), Kyle Larson (12/1), William Byron (12/1), Kevin Harvick (13/1), Martin Truex Jr. (13/1), Aric Almirola (13/1), Brad Keselowski (14/1), Kyle Busch (14/1) and Bubba Wallace (15/1).

Hamlin is also tied for the highest percentage of total dollars wagered at 8%. Truex Jr., who leads the way in total dollars wagered, and Almirola are also at 8%. Three more have captured 7% of the total dollars wagered: Larson, Elliott and Kyle Busch.
A couple of long shots have attracted noteworthy action as well. Ryan Newman, the 2008 first-place finisher at Daytona 500, is now at 35/1 after first being displayed at 75/1. He’s seized 5% of the total number of tickets and 4% of the total dollars wagered. Additionally, Matt DiBenedetto (30/1) has drawn 4% each of the total number of tickets and total dollars wagered.
In terms of the biggest bets placed at William Hill for The Great American Race, a $3,000 wager has come in on Byron at 17/1 ($54,000 total potential payout), Truex Jr. at 18/1 ($57,000 total potential payout) and Almirola at 18/1 ($57,000 total potential payout).
