Thursday Night Pro Football: NYG vs. PHI preview

Bet NFL with William Hill, America’s #1 sportsbook.

Two NFC East teams will battle tonight in Philadelphia, with the winner matching the first-place Cowboys in the win column.

The Eagles (1-4-1) are 5-point favorites at home at William Hill over the Giants (1-5), while the total currently resides at 44.5.

“There’s been some movement in this game,” said Nick Bogdanovich, Director of Trading for William Hill US. “A lot of it has to do with recent form and a lot of it has to do with injuries. We opened it at Eagles -6, and it has dropped since then. The Eagles are beat up. Carson Wentz was running for his life against the Ravens, they can’t block for him whatsoever. These are two ugly teams, so I can understand the move.”

After originally being listed at -6, Philadelphia fell all the way down to -3.5 before settling at its current spread of -5. And William Hill bettors are backing the birds in a couple different markets for tonight’s showdown.

The Eagles are capturing 70% of the total number of tickets and 80% of the total dollars wagered among all spread bets against the Giants, as well as 62% of the total number of tickets and 83% of the total dollars wagered.

That is highlighted by one Nevada bettor placing $11,000 on Eagles -4.5 (-110) for a total potential payout of $21,000, which is the largest wager as of now for this contest.

William Hill bettors are also aligned on the total, as the over has gotten 68% of the total number of tickets and 67% of the total dollars wagered. Despite the over having the edge in both categories, the total has dropped half a point from its opener of 45 to now sitting at 44.5.
