UFC 252 week has finally arrived, as the trilogy showdown we’ve all been waiting for takes place on Saturday night.
Current heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic (19-3) will square off against top-ranked contender Daniel Cormier (22-2) for the title belt.
“These guys have already fought twice and split,” said Nick Bogdanovich, Director of Trading for William Hill U.S. “This looks like a dead coin flip. We expect a big handle on it, and hopefully this fight will live up to the first two.”
Cormier defeated Miocic in their first matchup back in July 2018 after delivering a first-round knockout, followed by Miocic getting his revenge with a fourth-round TKO in August 2019.
Despite Miocic winning the last match and being the current heavyweight champion, it’s actually Cormier who is the slight favorite at William Hill for Saturday night’s main event at -115. For the total, over 2.5 rounds is favored at -150 while the under is +130.
One William Hill New Jersey bettor has already made a notable wager on the headliner, placing $11,000 on Cormier -110 for a total potential payout of $21,000.
There are a couple other intriguing bouts on the main card as well.
In the co-main event, rising star Sean O’Malley puts his perfect 12-0 record to the test when he faces Marlon Vera. O’Malley is the biggest favorite on the card, as he’s priced at -325 to make it a baker’s dozen in the win column.
O’Malley has also drawn the biggest wager thus far at William Hill for UFC 252. A Nevada bettor put down $13,750 on O’Malley back when he was -275 for a total potential payout of $18,750.
In another massive heavyweight battle between top-10 contenders, No. 5 Junior Dos Santos is up against No. 6 Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Despite the lower ranking, Rozenstruik is -150 chalk in this bout.
