WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational Odds, Trends: DeChambeau Attracting Most Money

Several of the world’s top golfers are neck-and-neck at the top of the odds board to win this week’s WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.

Justin Thomas and Bryson DeChambeau remain the 10/1 co-favorites, with Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy next at 12/1 apiece. Webb Simpson and Xander Schauffele follow at 17/1 and 18/1 respectively, while defending WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational champion Brooks Koepka has the eighth-lowest odds at 22/1.

But who has been drawing the most attention from William Hill bettors?

In terms of total dollars wagered, it’s DeChambeau leading the field at 9%. That includes one Nevada bettor placing $1,000 on DeChambeau 10/1 for a potential total payout of $11,000, which is the largest wager placed for the event as of now at William Hill. McIlroy ranks second in total dollars wagered at 8%, with Thomas close behind at 6%.

The golfer who is tops in total number of tickets, though, is further down the board.

Viktor Hovland is tied for the 11th-lowest odds at 28/1 with Daniel Berger, yet he’s first with 5% of the total number of tickets.

Six others have received 4% of the total number of tickets: Schauffele, Koepka, Berger, Tyrrell Hatton (30/1), Tony Finau (30/1) and Patrick Reed (35/1).

There have also been a couple of long shots attracting notable action as well.

The WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational futures wager with the largest potential total payout thus far has come in on Jordan Spieth. Spieth, who is currently 40/1, drew a $700 bet back when he was priced at 45/1 for a total potential payout of $32,200.

There are three golfers with odds higher than 50/1 who have generated at least 2% of the total number of tickets and total dollars wagered: Matthew Wolff (3%/2%), Sungjae Im (2%/2%) and Max Homa (3%/2%). All of them have seen their price shift from the opening number, as Wolff went from 70/1 to 65/1, Im shifted from 80/1 to 65/1 and Homa moved from 100/1 to 90/1.

William Hill also has 20 head-to-head tournament matchups available, highlighted by Rahm (-130) vs. Thomas (+110) and McIlroy (-130) vs. DeChambeau.
