Memorial Tournament Odds, Trends: Many Bettors Banking on Historic Win for Woods

Tiger is back on the prowl, as the legendary golfer will vie for his record sixth Memorial Tournament victory in his PGA Tour return.

Many William Hill bettors believe Woods can achieve something he hasn’t done since 2012: nab a victory at Muirfield Village Golf Club.

Woods is tied for the seventh-lowest odds at 20/1 with Webb Simpson after opening at 30/1. Woods leads all golfers in both total number of tickets (8%) and total dollars wagered (10%) to win the 2020 Memorial Tournament.

The Woods wager with the largest potential payout thus far at William Hill comes via a Nevada bettor who put down $500 on Tiger 30/1 for a total potential payout of $15,500.

Jon Rahm (15/1) ranks second with 8% of the total dollars wagered, followed by 10/1 favorite Bryson DeChambeau at 7%. That includes the largest bet taken as of now at William Hill, where another Nevada bettor laid $2,000 on DeChambeau 10/1 for a total potential payout of $22,000.

Behind Woods in total number of tickets are Brooks Koepka (22/1) and Xander Schauffele (22/1), who have captured 5% apiece. Five others have received 4% in that department: DeChambeau, Justin Thomas (13/1), Rory McIlroy (15/1), Viktor Hovland (28/1) and Abraham Ancer (30/1).

There are a couple of Memorial Tournament long shots who have generated notable action at William Hill.

Kevin Streelman has shifted from 80/1 to his current 60/1 price, and has received 2% of both the total number of tickets and total dollars wagered. Two of those were $400 bets on Streelman 80/1 for potential total payouts of $16,200 each.

Meanwhile, the wager with the largest potential payout is on Jim Furyk, as a Nevada bettor put down $300 on Furyk 250/1. If he were to repeat his first-place Memorial Tournament finish in 2002, that bet would pay out a total of $75,300.
