The NFL offseason is chugging along, but it will be running at a high gear on March 18—the start of NFL free agency. And the most intriguing name to potentially hit the market is Tom Brady.
You’ll likely be debating with your friends, family members and coworkers whether the legendary signal-caller will return for a 21st season with the New England Patriots or if he’ll move on to a different team. Well now, you can put your money where your mouth is.
William Hill has released a historic new prop bet available in Nevada and New Jersey: Which team will Tom Brady take his first snap with in Week 1 of the 2020-21 NFL regular season?
“This prop is the first of its kind for us,” William Hill’s Director of Trading Nick Bogdanovich said. “Vegas is getting the Raiders next season, and it’s one of the teams Brady has hinted at coming to. Where he will be going is huge news, and we always try to make props that are fun and allow sports fans to be involved in the conversation.”
The Patriots are still the -160 favorites after opening at -200, followed by the Las Vegas Raiders (opened +400) and the Los Angeles Chargers (opened +450) at +300 apiece. The two AFC West teams have each drawn 37% of the total dollars wagered, while the Raiders edge the Chargers 20% to 15% in percentage of total number of tickets. The Patriots have received just 9% of the tickets and 1% of the dollars wagered.
Yet, there’s been two big movers since the prop came out.
The Tennessee Titans opened at 20/1, however they are now down to 10/1 after attracting 13% of the tickets and 7% of the dollars wagered. Meanwhile, the field is at 12/1 after starting out as a 75/1 longshot. The field has been the most popular bet thus far in terms of percentage of tickets (25%), and has also brought in 18% of the dollars wagered.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (25/1), Dallas Cowboys (40/1), Miami Dolphins (40/1) and Indianapolis Colts (40/1) are the other teams on the board. Additionally, Brady not taking a single snap during the 2020-21 regular season sits at 18/1.
