The Buccaneers have been a trendy pick among bettors in the NFL futures markets of late, whereas the Patriots haven’t been attracting as much action as Tom Brady’s new team. After William Hill’s release of 2020-21 NFL win totals this past weekend, however, it’s been a different story for how the public is approaching these two teams.
Tampa Bay has attracted 67% of the total number of tickets on OVER 9 wins (-120), although 79% of the total dollars wagered has come in on UNDER 9 wins (EVEN).
For the Patriots’ win total, it’s been the exact opposite. While 55% of the total number of tickets for the Patriots’ win total have been on UNDER 9 (-115), OVER 9 (-105) has actually received 62% of the total dollars wagered.
Two other potential AFC contenders, the Ravens (11.5) and Browns (8.5), are the teams that bettors are the most pessimistic about thus far regarding win totals, as each has brought in at least 60% of both the total number of tickets and total dollars wagered on their respective UNDER.
Meanwhile, the Falcons (7.5) have the highest percentage of total number of tickets (83%) on the OVER out of any team, as well as 92% of the total dollars wagered on that side. The OVER for the Vikings (9), Colts (8.5), Panthers (5.5) and Redskins (5.5) is also above 60% in both categories.
