Shanghai Bobby tops list of more than 150 horses available for wagering

LAS VEGAS (October 31, 2012) – William Hill Race & Sports Book has opened future wagering on the 2013 Kentucky Derby with a field of 159 hopefuls led by undefeated Shanghai Bobby.

Following Shanghai Bobby, the morning-line favorite for Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile, are Archwarrior, Goldencents, Power Broker and Uncaptured.

“Shanghai Bobby is the deserving favorite after four impressive wins, but the Derby is more than six months away and customers looking for a score will find lots of juicy prices on talented horses at odds of 100-, 150- and 200-1,” said Dan Shapiro, William Hill US marketing director.

Earlier this year, trainer Doug O’Neill cashed winning future tickets on I’ll Have Another at odds of up to 200-1.The bets were placed at a Primm, Nevada sports book now operated by William Hill.

Kentucky Derby future wagers may be placed at any of 33 William Hill Race Books throughout Nevada. A complete list of locations may be found at www.williamhill.us. Customers may request to add additional horses to the wagering field in person at any William Hill Race Book or by emailing their request marketing@williamhill.us.

The Kentucky Derby will be run on May 4, 2013, at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky.

The Kentucky Derby futures are released just prior to the Breeders’ Cup, which will be run at Santa Anita on Friday and Saturday. William Hill is offering a $5,000 Twin Quinella jackpot on Saturday. Many head-to-head proposition bets will be available for both days. Customers wagering $50 on Breeders’ Cup races will receive an official Breeders’ Cup souvenir cap at select locations.
